100502002/Gold Filled Van Dell Chatelaine
Signed on both pins "Van Dell 1/20-12kt GF, this chatelaine measures 7.5" in length based upon the shortest strand of the original double chain. Popular during the 1940s, chatelaines from this era (unlike the Victorian chatelaines) are two part pins or brooches connected by some sort of chain or stringing but usually chain. In this piece, two flowers - one slightly larger than the other - sit on branches and individually host prong set blue rhinestones. Versatile, this piece is unique in that the flowers easily unhook from the chain allowing them to be worn individually as well as with or without the chain. Plated in yellow and rose gold, the pin has dimension, movement and sparkle. A lovely look for wearing on a sweater, blouse or jacket, this chatelaine is in very good condition.

From a time when Monet was considered better department store quality costume jewelry, this fur clip with its mirror finish (you can actually see yourself!) takes the shape of a classic urn with ornate handles and ruffled neck and base. Measuring 2" in length by 1.5" in width, the reverse side features a two prong back suitable for piercing furs or heavily constructed winter outer coats. Signed Monet on both the urn and the clip, there is little surface scratching indicative of little to no wear and excellent condition.

This simply stunning piece of jewelry is more like a work of art. With frills and curls and do-dads galore, you might even miss the magnificently prong set deep green cabochon and hanging teardrop bauble. Measuring 2.75" in length and just shy of 2" at its widest point, the closures on the reverse side are unique and speak of European innovation. Probably from the 1930s and with heavy Rococo influence, the adornment has been outfitted with a clip/trumbone pin back mechanism that is signed "Brevete S.D.G.D." The clip has a rounded back with small lower teeth to secure to more sturdier fabric through which the pin will not easily fit.
